Difference Between CV and Resume

CV

The primary differences between a resume and a curriculum vitae (CV) are the length, what is included and what each is used for.

A Resume is a one or two page summary of your skills, experience and education no more than a page or two.

Types of Resumes

Chronological Resume

A chronological resume starts by listing your work history, with the most recent position listed first. Your jobs are listed in reverse chronological order with your current, or most recent job, first.
Functional Resume

A functional resume focuses on your skills and experience, rather than on your chronological work history. It is used most often by people who are changing careers or who have gaps in their employment history.
Combination Resume
A combination resume lists your skills and experience first. Your employment history is listed next. With this type of resume you can highlight the skills you have that are relevant to the job you are applying for, and also provide the chronlogical work history that employers prefer.
Targeted Resume
A targeted resume is a resume that is customized so that it specifically highlights the experience and skills you have that are relevant to the job you are applying for.
Mini Resume
A mini resume contains a brief summary of your career highlights qualifications. It can be used for networking purposes or shared upon request from a prospective employer or reference writer who may want an overview of your accomplishments, rather than a full length resume.
A Curriculum Vitae is a longer (at least two page) and more detailed synopsis. It includes a summary of your educational and academic backgrounds as well as teaching and research experience, publications, presentations, awards, honors, affiliations and other details.

In Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, employers may expect to receive a curriculum vitae.

In the US, Australia & other part of the globe employers might specify during the interview call, However In the United States, a curriculum vitae is used primarily when applying for academic, education, scientific or research positions. It is also applicable when applying for fellowships or grants.

Googlle Has Shutdown

Googlle
Last week, I covered Googlle opening a school in India. Googlle, not to be confused with Google. Obviously, this was a site and service set up to trick people, as they were even ripping-off Google’s logo. Well guess what? After the publicity, they decided to Shutdown the Site.

I wonder why do people in india think that they can start any fake company & give certifications & degrees which have no value in the market. I also wrote a post on Un-Employment Oriented Degree For SALE in which i tried to show how degrees & certifications are being provided to poor Mango People ( Unemployed & Desperate People )

This is what people have say about this:

netsendjoe on 03 Jan 2010 – 10:57
this school soooo doesnt matter.
what makes people think that they can go through schooling somewhere for cheap and get a job with a CERTIFICATE, when people have gone to real institutes and gotten certificates or have gone to an accredited college and gotten a degree and neither of those people have been able to get a tech job.
wtf? in all the newspapers i’ve seen all the job offerings say things like : “Looking for a senior developer. Must know Java, SQL, ASP, PHP, Perl, Oracle, etc….” “Must have A+, MCSE, etc…. certifications.” “Must have at least 5 years experience.”
I mean come on.. first of all no one is hiring entry level because the economy sucks and companies are giving employees buyout options for them to retire. My dad worked for AT&T back when they were just Bell Labs in Murray Hill, NJ. He was told he had to take the buyout or get nothing and this was 7 or 8 years ago… before this recession happened.
Soooo… bottom line is that this “Googlle Institute” is a joke. Don’t get me wrong schooling is a good idea, but go to a real college and wait until the economy is stable again in a few years to find a decent tech job.

Tim Dawg on 04 Jan 2010 – 21:44

Yes that all makes sense but there will be people out there that will see this as a shortcut to a high paying job (or a job at all). Most people realize the economy will recover eventually and these people are hoping to jump on that wave to gainful employment even though it would be border-line fraud (even though it’s not actual fraud thanks to the extra “L”. No matter how ridiculous there will always be people willing to spend money on it.
In the End I would say. ” if you really want a google certifications there are only 2

Gyan Vs Knowledge

So here’s the Qestion. Do you have Gyan ?

The obvious answer will be, YES i have Gyan.. Knowledge Right !!

I would say… No my dear friend you are mistaken. Gyan in today’s world is information.. which you can share or distribute.

However the ” Gyan ” you thought i was talking about is called Bhuddhi, which very few people have. Many people nowdays share information which they have collected from many place like schools, colleges, work place etc etc.

However, Bhuddhi ( I term it as expertise ) is something very few people have.

Have seen many ads in the TV of Jaago India Jaago.. But has india even thought about it.

I remember watching an interview of Ratan Tata in which he said. ” Let Politetions make Bharat, We will make India”.

I sometimes ask Myself ” Mr. Saurabh, What’s Your Bhuddhi ? ” Have you ?

PS: Gyan & Bhuddhi Dont resemble to any Noun ( a person Place Animal or Thing )… :) A Small Gyan

More Than 15,740 Social Media Experts on Twitter

twit

Social media is growing fast, but how fast? Using Tweepsearch to search bios on Twitter profiles, blogger B. L. Ochman found there were 4,487 social media experts in May 2009. Today there are 15,740.

The stats, which include variations like social media- “guru”, “ninja” and “superstar,” show that “marketer” is by far the most-used name.

There’s amusement to be found in the numbers, too: The blog Broadstuff points out that “This represents a 3.5x increase every six months. Projecting this growth forward means that there will be nearly 30m social media experts etc on Twitter by this time in 2012.”

That humorous observation raises a legitimate point: A growing industry needs trust and reputation. With social media growing so rapidly and no certification yet established, how do we go about establishing reputation?

Without it, such stats provide fodder for those who would say that social media — which is touching every industry from entertainment to air travel — is simply hot air.

“Googlle” opens a school in India

That’s right, “Googlle”—some company in Bhubaneswar about one L better than tech giant Google—has opened a school in India, offering GCPA degrees (Googlle Certified Professional In Advanced Computing) and GCPE degrees (Googlle Certified Professional in E-commerce). Tech reporter MG Siegler does some digging on the “Googlle Insitute of Software Studies,” a (painful) rip off of Google branding trying to lure in innocent, naive folks with finger ticks. Googlle (how do you even say that?) is actually a division of C.B.Online pvt. ltd, an “Online Software Solution Provider” in India whose cafeteria is of dubious extravagance.

Hopefully the poor construction of the Googlle Web site will dissuade people from throwing away their money. But then again, if someone is fooled by “Googlle,” who knows what will slip past their radars? As of Saturday night, the Googlle Institute’s site is reporting exceeded bandwith limit—which probably means we’re all rushing in for our Googlle degrees! Or people are visiting for a few tickles.

Chetan Bhagat | 3 Idiots & The End of Story

All Izz Well

With reference to my last post Chetan Bhagat | 3 Idiots – The Real Truth

We have a conclusion to all this controversy. Chetan has Posted a new blog in which he says :

” When you are saying ‘based on a novel by’ in a movie, you cannot have a separate original Story credit in the film “
” While they did fulfill the ‘based on the novel by’ credit as per contract, by claiming the story as original and claiming it as theirs alone “
” To the extent they have done this, all I merely ask is put my name as one of the writers in the ‘Story’ credit. They can keep their names above me, and make me the third writer of the story. The screenplay is theirs anyway. “

Now This clearly means that todays Show Baaji was a fixed match between them & now all Chetan Needs is his name in the end ” Story – Chetan Bhagat ” which is very correct & i support his demand.

However this was not a very big issue if raised earlier & definately did not require all this Show Baaji.

So Readers Like me of Chetan’s Books ” ALLL IZZZ WELLL “

Chetan Has His Readers

Raju Hirani Has his Movie

We the Mango People In our workplace  & other places discuss & say  ” Bollywood Mein Ye Sab Hota Hai ”
